About Penrallt Holistic Therapies
I have had a keen interest in complimentary therapies all my adult life.
Starting with returning to college at age 21 to study biology and chemistry with a view to taking a degree in herbal medicine, I found work in a wholefood shop which sparked my journey in exploring the importance of diet and digestion to health.
At the same time I took an apprenticeship with a medical herbalist in my home town of Winchester with whom I worked for the next 4 years as I completed my A levels and began my degree.
2 years into my degree I fell pregnant and chose to put aside my studies to come to Wales and begin my family, and there is no place I’d rather be to raise my children.
I have been exploring other aspects of complementary medicine whilst waiting for the right moment to resume my original studies, qualifying in holistic and clinical aromatherapy, reflexology and manual lymphatic drainage while working and practicing from The Natural Healthcare Centre in Newport.
My studies have allowed me to travel both the country and abroad in pursuit of the best teachers and qualifications.
I feel that each therapy I have been drawn to has added to the depth of my knowledge and my ability to combine my skills to create unique and complete treatment packages for my clients.
What I Do
Aromatherapy treatments involve a form of massage that uses blended essential oils.
These powerful plant essences work in combination with a gentle but deeply effective form of massage
Reflexology is an innovative treatment where massage techniques used on the feet (and sometimes the hands) allow the therapist to read the rest of the body and focus treatment on the areas which need it most.
It has always been important to me to source the highest quality ingredients and also to have a low impact on the environment.
I will only use organic essential oils, base oils and aromatic waters from small distillers and suppliers.
My treatment towels and tunics are made from organic cotton.
My business cards are made from FSC certified cardboard.
My containers are made from glass and recyclable aluminium.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
A unique range of gentle and rhythmic movements that move the skin in the direction of lymph flow. This stimulates the lymphatic vessels to move fluid across the whole body, carrying substances vital to the defence of the body and removing waste products.
